The qualifying rounds of the 70th Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Competition will take place from March 23 to 30, 2025, at the Petit Palau of the Palau de la Música Catalana.

The 18 contestants who make it to the Second Round (March 27 and 28) will have to do a very demanding repertoire lasting 40 minutes. They will have to play a modern work written after 1995, a romantic work and a modern work by a composer born after 1860.
