The music of Steve Reich, guest composer in the current season at the Palau de la Música Catalana, takes centre stage and gives title to this concert by the GIO Symphonia, which will also include works by Bach and Arvo Pärt. A member of the generation of North American artists who created the musical movement of Minimalism, Steve Reich is today a prominent voice on the contemporary scene and, despite his advanced age, he is still an active creator and a beacon for artists of different specialities. This concert will feature an important retrospective covering fifty years of different stages of one of the fathers of Minimalism.
