Details

The celebrations of the Millennium of Montserrat continue with a new concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana that will gather, for the first time, the voices of the Escolania de Montserrat with the Orchestra of the Miracle, founded two years ago in the sanctuary of the Miracle -depending on the jurisdiction of the one of Montserrat. The concert will feature the Capella de Música de Montserrat and direction of Juan de la Rubia, who will also perform the organ.

The programme includes a representative work by each of the three most important composers of the Baroque period: two of Saxons – Handel and Bach – and the Italian Vivaldi, a repertoire that will be accompanied by the visual art of Sean Scully, one of the great references of contemporary abstraction, currently exhibited at La Pedrera. Thus, the concert will offer a visual and introspective experience to the listener, with projections on the stage of the works of this artist, closely linked to Montserrat, where the blocks of color, lines and textures will be transmitters of deep emotions and will invite the audience to immerse themselves in a universe of rhythm and intensity together with the music that is being performed at that time.
