Details

Founded in 1993 in Paris by Philippe Arrii-Blanchette and established in Brest (Brittany) three years later, the Ensemble Sillages explores the multiple possibilities of contemporary musical language through a deep understanding of works. Since 2020, its director has been Gonzalo Bustos, an Argentine musician committed to the premiere and dissemination of a large number of pieces of contemporary music. On this occasion, as part of the Mixtur Festival programme, it presents works by up to five different composers for a formation of violin, cello, flute, saxophone, clarinet, piano and electronics.

Ensemble Sillages, conducted by G. Bustos, gives a “carte blanche” to the composer Ariadna Alsina. Through the composition Des mots des murs…, Alsina deploys 3 pieces for the ensemble and electronics, offering a musical exploration of fragility in different forms and nuances. The audience will also travel into the musical universes of Luis Naón, M. Jarrell, H. Parra and R. Saunders with compositions presenting different ways and in-depth work on timbre, gesture and sound energy. Alsina’s electroacoustic interludes will weave a common thread by moments, as a mirage…
